thermal prints

graphics dithered with g'mic and printed with a labelrange lp320 consumer shipping label printer. images may fade in direct sunlight.

tips for a good thermal print:

  • use your printer's exact dpi to bypass the software's built-in dithering and get precise control over the pixels in the final product.
  • the blank stickers determine the contrast & overall quality of the print. roll the dice on ebay and treasure your good batches.
  • if/when cutting the stickers, be sure to leave some of the edge for easy peeling.
  • sometimes the printer needs to warm up to its full potential. try printing 5 or 10 stickers at a time and see if the later ones come out better.
